Send in the clown
Because of late, I noticed how I am starting to suck at entertaining my self, hence I have waves of unhappiness resulting to stupidity every so often. So, I need something that will remind me of how sunshiney and happy my disposition really is, when that time comes.
I got my self a clown.
Yes, a clown--but not just any clown. I got a clown on a red stick holding a beach ball! Isn't this the nicest, most adorable, friendliest clown EVER?
See, I am happy now. I even dyed my hair two tones lighter to celebrate :)

Because walking is a serious thing...
Compromises..
It happens to everyone as they grow up. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you’ve known forever don’t see things the way you do.
So keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on.

Old school love
So, I finally got hold of my SLR manual camera! It looked quite sad and dirty when I saw it and I think a photo shoot is way in order, just to give it a jump start of sort. After all, I haven't used it ever since I got married.
Yes, old school IS love. Oh hello film.

Of offerings...

Oblation: The act of surrendering or offering.
Yes, I agree that no symbol profoundly represents UP more than the naked figure of a man offering himself with open arms. This statue is seriously moving, but even more so after you have gone through and out the University.
But what do you offer? and to whom? I believe the Oblation is there to remind us UP alumni and students of that wonderful experience we had in UP. I also think the answer therein is deeply personal. It depends on one's experiences in UP and how UP molded the individual. To some, this is like the meeting place whenever there is a protest; to some still, the Oblation means offering of knowledge; further, for some who went to the economics class of Winnie Monsod, offering of knowledge back--or rather giving back t the country.
For me, I think UP taught me so much more. UP taught me to have pride in my work and to do my damned best. UP taught me to think and to ask difficult questions. UP taught me to seek and love knowledge. UP taught me to find solutions in everything and that I should not accept dead ends. UP taught me that yes, there are other brighter, smarter, prettier people in the universe but it doesn't mean I am less than them. UP taught me the infinite possibilities of everything and that to accept limitations is the lousiest thing.
So I guess that is what UP and the Oblation means to me. UP has become me.
Happy 2011!
December came and went and I was not able to post a SINGLE thing. Busy consumed me much last month--most of it running around shopping for gifts! I actually do not like cramming shopping and wrapping but because I tried to pick the best gifts, I had to cram the latter part of my shopping and most of my wrapping!
So, new year. I finally got my Starbucks planner a day before the new year, thanks to a couple of friends who willingly allowed themselves to be dragged into drinking the same blend over and over when with me. But granted this new one is so pretty (V-E-L-V-E-T!) and so nice to touch, the old one has been a very good friend the past year. It is now perfectly imperfect, totally overused with some of the pages folded, various color of pen scribbles and the edges shows signs of having fallen off. A lot of times. It has been like an old friend and I am having a hard time letting it go.
